Caroline received her bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and Business Management. While pursuing her degree, Caroline worked in the cosmetic industry. For the four years during school she was a regional makeup artist for a national makeup brand. While this provided very good income, particularly on the weekends, she longed for management experience.
After graduation, she interviewed with McClatchy Media Group for the Account Executive position at the Herald Media Group. Her primary areas of expertise were an intimate knowledge of the sales industry, superior communication skills with the customers and her colleagues, and an intense ambition to succeed professionally. The CEO was surprised by her enthusiasm and ambition to take on a new career path. Caroline worked as an executive manager for three years learning all the intricacies of multi-media marketing.
Shortly after, Caroline was hired as the director of Carolina Bride Magazine, overseeing all publications, revenue, distribution, customer retention and consumer acquisition. The past seven years prepared her for owning and operating her own business. When contemplating new opportunities, Caroline was brainstorming a way in which she could combine something she loved with something that she would be the owner of. She loves the beauty industry, especially hair/makeup and had the experience of operating a business. So, after a lot of market research she undertook the task of writing a business plan.
As an adolescent, Caroline represented the town of Fort Mill in The Miss South Carolina Teen pageant where she learned the importance of looking your best, making a name for yourself, being competitive in everything you do and embracing the term, “first impression is everything.” Coupling her experience in the business world with her passion for beauty, Caroline formed York County’s FIRST “blow dry bar,” ~Blow Out! Beauty and Dry Bar.~
