Lash lift & tint
What is a lash lift?
A lash lift is like a perm for your lashes. Like old-school perms from the '80s, lash lifts set the shape of your natural lashes using a chemical solution. A lift is essentially what your lash would be doing with a really good mechanical curler, giving a nice shape upward and a realistic curl.
How is a lash lift performed?
After cleansing the lashes and separating your bottom lashes from your top, a silicone shield gets stuck on the skin using a gentle adhesive (similar to the glue used to apply false lashes). Adhesive is applied on top of the shield as well, then lashes are combed up to take their shape. Here is where eye-safe perming solution is applied. The perm solution acts as a softener so that's going in and softening the bond of your hair so that it's mold-able. The perming lotion is left on for three to seven minutes. Then, a setting solution and oil are applied.

What can I not do after a lash lift?
The first 24 hours after a lash lift are crucial. On top of not wearing mascara, you should avoid wetting them, steam, and all forms of moisture and humidity, and wearing eye makeup to make the curl last. Lash lifts are gloriously low maintenance. While lash extensions required me to be extra careful doing anything—washing my face, sleeping a certain way, applying makeup—I haven't had to think at all about my lashes since getting a lift. I wake up, add mascara, and I'm good to go. You can use coconut oil or a facial oil. Your lashes have been processed so just keeping them conditioned and nourished is great. Lash lifts are literally the lowest maintenance.
Don’t get them wet for 24 hours!
Use coconut oil or castor oil to nourish your lashes.
Can I wear mascara?
You can wear mascara. Because it's just your natural lashes being curled, you're free to use whatever eye makeup you wish. You just have to wait 24 hours.
Yes, you can wear mascara!
Does a lash lift hurt?
It's not going to hurt (at least, it shouldn't). Lash lifts in their early iterations had a reputation for damaging both eyes and lashes, but if you go to a certified lash artist, you shouldn’t have any issues. (Do your due diligence, though, and read reviews, study lash artists' Instagrams, and be wary of any treatments whose costs are too good to be true.) I personally use a cream formula so no chemicals get in your eyes. Be careful of "speed treatments" that can over-process the hair and cause damage.
While I wouldn’t necessarily call the process relaxing, it is nowhere near painful. When I got lash extensions, I was definitely uncomfortable and had some irritation after the service, but I experienced none of the above with my lift. Because your lashes are glued down, you can’t really feel anything that’s happening to them, and there’s little risk of the chemicals getting in your eyes. For me, personally, the worst thing was lying still for an hour.
How long does a lash lift last?
This will depend on how quickly your own lashes grow and regenerate and how much care of your eyelashes you take. You can try to extend the results by using eye lash growth treatments, but the treatment is not meant to be permanent. The tint could last anywhere from 3-8 weeks depending on the person.

Lash tint
What is it?
An eyelash tint consists of adding a special dye to your eyelashes, giving you weeks of dark, full lashes without the assistance of mascara. You recline in a comfortable chair and a technician applies the dye to your lashes while you keep your eyes closed for about 20 minutes. It’s a quick, relatively painless process.
How long does a lash tint last?
Results typically last 3-6 weeks, depending on how much you touch your eyes, how often you wash your face, and what kind of cleanser you use. You’ll want to steer clear of oil cleansers and oil-based makeup removers for the time being. The less you run your eyes under water, the better. You can always stick to face wipes, and use a Q-tip to use a cream cleanser and remove eye makeup without touching your lashes.
Is it safe?
As with all beauty services, you want to make sure to go to a licensed professional who uses high quality products and has a lot of experience. The eye is a much more sensitive and important area than your eyebrows, so even if you get your brows tinted at a local nail salon, that doesn’t mean you necessarily want to get your lashes tinted there as well.
