Do you want results? Consider professional grade skin care products...
What is professional skin care?
Professional skin care refers to skin care products that are sold and used in a day spa, medical spa, doctor’s office or skin clinic. There is another world of skin care that you may not know of if you don’t get facials or see a dermatologist. This world offers GREAT, HIGH QUALITY, EFFECTIVE products!
What are active ingredients and performance ingredients?
Active ingredients and performance ingredients operate at a higher concentration level. You receive greater potency in your products. Professional grade products, particularly the medical lines, are designed to deliver clinical-strength results. You can NOT achieve this at home! The goal is achieved by providing a higher amount of the key ingredients that are designed to solve a problem.
The ingredients found in professional skin care (skin care sold by estheticians or physicians) are often the latest and greatest. This is where you find the most promising “true” ingredients with cutting edge development.
What does the delivery of ingredients mean?
Just because your friend told you that an ingredient is “great” doesn’t mean the product will be great. What matters is getting that ingredient INTO the skin and enabling it to reach its target destination. If the “great ingredient” doesn’t penetrate into the skin far enough, it will not benefit the skin whatsoever.
Our skin is highly impermeable because it is our protective barrier from harmful agents that come into contact with the skin daily. These harmful agents could be chemicals, bugs, UVA/UVB rays, pollution, smoke, harsh weather, etc.
Ingredients, especially lifting and firming ingredients, need vehicles to transit the “great ingredient” into the skin. If the ingredient doesn’t reach the lower depths of the epidermis and the dermis where they can make a significant difference, then the “great ingredient” is useless. You are wasting your money and the “great ingredient” just rests on the outer layer of your skin.
Professional grade products utilize the most current delivery systems (vehicles) to allow for product penetration. This is why professional products have a shorter shelf life and are more expensive.
What are professional formulas?
Professional grade products DO MORE. They perform more actions on the skin. Instead of just doing one thing, they often do multiple things. They act as a thorough solution to treating the root cause of a problem.
For example: A product that you purchase from your friend on social media may say, “made for oily skin,” however, at best it’s only masking the problem. The drug store bought product or product you ordered from your friend contains only the standard oil-absorbing or pore-minimizing ingredients that you’d find in Ulta or Sephora. In contrast, a professional grade product will contain oil-regulating ingredients to treat the root of the problem.
Should you use professional skin care?
You don’t need to use ALL professional skin care to have good skin. Good skin comes from good habits. But, if you have problematic skin or you are wanting to minimize the impact of aging, then you must use professional grade products. Professional grade products offer more advanced solutions and the latest developments in skin care research. They are backed by skin care gurus who want to help you with your SKIN, NOT make MONEY from you!
What you get is not always what you pay!
You may pay more for professional grade products, but you are generally getting more value in return. There is a lot more benefit and “bang for your buck”. Often times you may pay a high price for a name brand retail product, but you are simply paying for the brand name itself, not the quality of ingredients. “You get what you pay for“ does not apply in retail skin care sales. ”You get what you pay for” applies in a clinical setting or products sold by a licensed esthetician.
Where can you buy professional retail?
You can buy professional products at a day spa, medical spa, dermatologist, plastic surgeon’s office or online. Just be extremely careful when purchasing online! I only recommend purchasing products from a store front that you know is reputable or from a name brand website that only sales skin care (aka the manufacturer).
The advice of an esthetician, who is very knowledgeable about products and can see your skin while talking to you, will save you a lot of time and money. If you don’t have time to get a facial, call your local spa and let the receptionist know that you are coming in to buy skin care products. The esthetician and receptionist will help guide you to the right products.
