Hydroquinone is the reason to choose this version specifically. It works on pigment production itself rather than only removing pigmented surface cells, which is why it is used for discoloration that keeps returning after gentler treatments. It is also why this is a decision to make with an esthetician rather than by browsing: it is not for everyone, and it is not meant to be used indefinitely.
